Our story

The Ronald Edwards, Sr. Integrative Mental Health Foundation is a community-focused organization under the auspices of WSTC and is committed to expanding access to mental health support through practical, integrative approaches.

Our work is centered on reaching individuals and families in real-world settings—outside of traditional systems—where support is often needed most.

“A much-needed initiative focused on expanding access to mental health support through community-based, preventative approaches. This work will make a meaningful impact where it is needed most.”

Dr. Oliver Hartman

Inspiration

This foundation is inspired by the life of Ronald Clayton Edwards, Sr., an early Black printer at the U.S. Department of the Treasury during the civil rights era.

His work contributed to significant currency production efforts, including the $100 bill and Harriet Tubman design initiatives. Through prolonged exposure to industrial printing chemicals, he experienced serious health challenges, including mental health struggles.

Despite these hardships, he remained committed to supporting his family and others.

His experience reflects a broader reality: the need for earlier, more accessible mental health support within our communities.

This foundation exists to help address that need.

Why It Matters

Mental health impacts individuals, families, and communities every day. Yet access to early, supportive resources remains limited.

By expanding awareness and access, we aim to create stronger, healthier communities where individuals are supported with dignity and care.
